Metal Plating Choices
How Custom Hard Enamel Lapel Pins Are Made.

Like a soft enamel style pin, hard enamel lapel pins consist of a highly polished raised metal surface while the recessed areas of the pin are filled with premium quality colored enamels. The enamel of the pins are filled to the very top, so after it has been kiln fired to cure, the hard enamel is buffed flush with the polished metal. This gives the pin a brilliance unlike any of the other style of lapel pin.

Hard enamel lapel pins are excellent at catching someones eye and are a great conversation starter. While talking with someone at a networking event or social club they will notice your pin. This is a great way to break the ice and tell them what your business or cause is all about. Hard enamel pins are also a cost effective promotional item to pass out and generate interest in your organization.

A hard enamel lapel pin, soft enamel lapel pin and die struck lapel pin all would start off with the same raised and recessed base. The hard enamel style is filled and fired for almost twice as long at a much higher temperature, then polished to give it a burnished finish. A soft enamel pin is fired at a lower temperature for a shorter amount of time and coated with a clear epoxy for a glossy finish.
